Word{s} of the Day

I am feeling that since I have graduated college, my knowledge gain is stagnant.  In attempts to progress learning, I am going to challenge myself with some words of the day.

These words came from reading by E. Peterson, “Christ Plays in Ten Thousand Places.”

pejorative [adj] - slanderous, derogatory, insulting, bitchy

esoteric [adj] - obscure, abstract, mysterious, complex, complicated

desiccate [v] - dry, remove the moisture from; (fig) lacking interest, passion or energy

endemic [adj] - native to a certain area (usu. in ref. to plants, animals, disease or conditions)

profligate [adj] - recklessly extravagant, wasteful of resources

reticent [adj] - not revealing one’s thoughts or feelings readily

The goal now is to use them at least once today.  Check for “endemic” in fb status comment.  Only five to go.
